If you haven’t noticed, Jake and I are a little bit of foodies with a huge soft spot for sweets! With Summer coming to an end, I’ve decided to share our top 3 ice cream spots in Bozeman!
We’ve been to almost all of the locations in Bozeman, including McDonalds and DQ. The only spot we haven’t been to is Coffee Beans which is a coffee shop that also sells ice cream on the side.
It was hard to pick our top three places, but we’ve come to a decision! These three listed below are in no particular order because quite frankly it would be too difficult to rank them.
Not only is it fun trying new shops but it’s been eye opening when researching different businesses. A lot of these places we visit or events we go to are so much more than what you see on the outside.
Genuine
Genuine is located at 605 W. Peach St in Bozeman, MT and serves locally made ice cream. Not only do they serve delicious ice cream, but they also do wedding events, special orders and special events. We saw that they had a tent set up at the Bozeman Farmers Market with a select few flavors to choose from.
Genuine is a 2% for conservation certified business which means they donate 1% of their proceeds to nonprofits that support conservation efforts around here and they donate the other 1% of their time to causes that are similar. It’s pretty cool when you see businesses giving back to their communities in such a positive light.
Jake will typically get a sundae or a shake, but sometimes he likes to switch it up a bit to the normal 1 or 2 scoops of ice cream.
They usually have their standard flavors and will also rotate more unique flavors into their lineup. It’s really great for those that always like to try new flavors instead of getting the same thing day in and day out.
Sweet Peaks
Sweet Peaks has two locations in Bozeman, one on East Main Street and one on West Main Street. Their first location was opened in 2010 by a couple from Montana and they now have locations in Bozeman, Whitefish, Missoula and Kalispell.
Sweet Peaks was the first ice cream place that Jake and I decided to try out when we arrived in Bozeman. We were driving aimlessly through downtown, not really knowing where we were going, but then we spotted an ice cream shop!
When we saw Sweet Peaks, we had to stop in and it did not disappoint. Jake mentioned their caramel sauce would be a great Christmas gift for him! It’s fair to say he enjoyed it, along with his caramel sauce.

Flavr
Flavr is located at 290 W Kagy Blvd, Suite A and serves ice cream, smoothies and bubble tea. It doesn’t have the best reviews when you’re looking it up online, so we were a little skeptical when we first went. We made a decision to explore it because we aimed to sample every ice cream place in Bozeman.
Surprisingly, the ice cream was delicious, and it’s been a place we have gone back to numerous times.
It seems to be a theme here around Bozeman where places will source from local Farmers. That’s exactly what Flavr does! They also offer catering for different types of events around the area. On their website, they have a cute Flavr mobile ice cream coolers that they must bring around to serve their ice cream.
Unfortunately, I’ve been forgetting to take photos every time we go there. Our scoops may resemble those of other ice creams, so we invite you to unleash your imagination!
That concludes this week! It appears the upcoming week will be the final one with temperatures in the 80s, so it’s time to get inventive with our adventures. The coming months will likely be filled with plenty of football until the ski season begins, and perhaps the occasional hike, weather permitting.
