Another great week in Bozeman with perfect weather!
Even though it’s been beautiful, it gets very dry out here which is not always good for our surroundings.
There’s been a couple forest fires not too far way, so it’s been a little hazy in Bozeman.
Grassy Mountain Bracket Creek Trail
Grassy Mountain Bracket Creek trail is part of the Bangtail Trail which is a 26-mile loop. This was by far one of our favorites!
7.8 mile out & back | 1,719 elevation gain
It has a decent amount of elevation gain but not too much to the point where you feel like you’re dying. There were breathtaking outlooks along the path.
As I was running back down the mountain, I saw a dirt biker on the trail passing by. At first, it startled me because I didn’t think dirt bikes would ever be allowed on trails. Little did I know, when I got back down to the trailhead, to the sign indicated dirt bikes were allowed during certain times of the year. This is something I never saw when we were back living in Maine!
I don’t think it’ll be something Jake and I pick up as a hobby but it’s cool to learn different ways the mountains are utilized out here.
Some trails also allow horses, but I have yet to see someone riding a horse along the path.
In a few of the photos below you can see a very steep peak which is Sacagawea peak, part of the Bridger Range.
This peak is the highest point on the range, standing at 9,654 feet above sea level!

Drinking Horse Mountain
2.5 mile loop | 775 elevation gain
Moving to Montana certainly has been an adjustment but I’ve been looking forward to this week for a while as we got to see our friends!
My friend and her husband live in Michigan, so I don’t get to see her often. I met her in college, so this trip was extra special to me.
They were flying into Bozeman for a wedding but decided to make a mini trip out of it which included visiting us!
Anyways, Drinking Horse is a classic and a staple in Bozeman.
There was a river along the path that wasn’t too deep or moving too fast. We found out from our vet that further into the summer some of the standing water will contain algae that can make dogs sick.
The dog park we’ve been taking Cassie had standing water, so this was the perfect spot for our Cassie to cool down in.
She absolutely loved it! The zoomies were in full force!
Revelry
Revelry has to be at the top of our list for favorite restaurants in Bozeman.
The last time we went was for my birthday and they had a delicious dinner menu.
Luckily, the lunch menu was just as good as the dinner menu!
The four of us couldn’t decide between getting a pizza or a sandwich so Mac and split a pizza and sandwich…. Jake and Nick did the same thing! It was a perfect idea because we were all looking at the same options.

MARGHERITA PIZZA
Red sauce, mozzarella, fresh basil, olive oil, gluten-free cauliflower crust.

TUSCAN CHICKEN SANDWICH
Grilled marinated cage-free chicken breast, fresh mozzarella, pesto, herbed aioli, arugula, cherry tomatoes, red onions, gluten-free bun.
Later that Evening
Later that evening, we hung out by the pool at our apartment complex and played corn hole.
We lucked out as well because sometimes the pool can be extremely crowded on a Saturday night but not that night! There was a small storm earlier on in the day and I think that scared people away.

Next week, we are taking on our first trail running race! Tune in for next Sunday’s post to hear all about it. We are also looking forward to our first backpacking trip here next month when my brother comes to visit.
Exciting things are happening, so don’t forget to subscribe to never miss a post!
