As I’m sitting here watching a Bruins game on a Saturday night, I’ve realized we are leaving in 21 DAYS!!! Jake and I have started selling some of our items on Facebook Marketplace, getting things ready to bring to the storage unit, figuring out what needs to be donated.
In the middle of getting ready for our journey, we are also getting married on March 30, 2024!!!! We are eloping in Portland, ME where we had our second date and it couldn’t be more perfect. Despite planning this trip as I’m not a very good planner with day-to-day things, it has been a lot of fun (…and a little stressful) picking out my wedding dress, our wedding bands, the location, Cassie’s outfit and more! We didn’t want a huge wedding, so this gives us the best of both worlds and we plan to have a party/reception at a later date to celebrate with everyone.
You could say, we have a lot going on right now! It’s been so humbling with how helpful and supportive friends and family have been. It’s been nothing but joy from them. To be honest, I was a little worried to tell them about our trip because it’s not exactly a common plan when you’ve just turned 30 but I couldn’t be more excited.
When we first mentioned the idea, we got A LOT of questions but honestly, I wouldn’t expect anything less. It shows that they care, and it helps having viewpoints from people that have lived through their life.
Feel free to follow along with our journey! The first week will consist of loading up the car with our little family and driving to Montana! We plan to make a few pit stops in Nashville, St. Louis and South Dakota.
